Well, the mini is done. It went okay. One of the hard things about this race is that it starts at 7:30 am and you're supposed to be in your corral (your starting position...it goes A through Z) by 7:00. My parents live 40 minutes or so from downtown, so that makes for an early morning! We probably didn't leave early enough, so we were very rushed when we got there. We waited in line for the port-a-potties and didn't get into the corral until 7:28. We all had different corral assignments but wanted to start together, so we had to go with the person assigned the one the farthest back, P (you're not allowed to start ahead of what you've been assigned). The gun went off at 7:33, but we didn't get to the start line until 46 minutes later! Talk about ridiculous. Then for several miles we had to weave in and out of walkers who had corrals like "X" and "Y" on their bibs. Frustrating!!
But enough complaining. The weather was absolutely perfect - cool (50ish) and no wind or rain. I also had a really good time running with my dad, bro-in-law, and friend. Although it did get difficult constantly looking around trying to make sure we were all together.
My time was nothing compared to what it was back in my heyday, but it felt very comfortable. I never felt like I couldn't go farther, and I was even able to speed up quite a bit the last couple miles. Hopefully one day I'll get into better shape, but I was happy with this for now.

Now onto Janie...
She's 9 months now!
A couple weeks ago she got her fifth tooth and her first ear infection. She's so close to crawling, but mainly just rolls around. She pulls herself up to her knees, but doesn't have a lot of strength with standing. She likes solids and nursing, being outside, taking baths with her sister, baby dolls, and trying out new sounds.
